Family Life alongside Ministry
Ministry is often supported by my wife, Katie, who has completed her training as a Lay Pioneer with CMS in Oxford. Katie is an artist and highly creative, with a passion for working with women and young people. She has exceptional skills in graphic design and ethical marketing, which she has used extensively to support churches. At St. John’s and St. Faith’s, Katie played a key role in rebranding efforts, helping to refresh their visual identity and communication materials. Her design work has not only improved the churches' aesthetics but has also made their messages more engaging and accessible to the wider community.
Katie also brings a fresh perspective to ministry situations, often seeing things differently from others, which helps reframe challenges and find creative solutions. While we frequently work together, we each focus on our own strengths—Katie’s creativity and people-oriented approach complementing my collaborative and strategic leadership.
Our son, Isaac, also adds his own energy, offering families permission to embrace worship with joy and playfulness.
Holidays and Excursions
Isaac, Katie, and I love visiting new places. We’ve enjoyed holidays across the UK and abroad (when possible). Recently, we visited the Eden Project in Cornwall and the Turner Contemporary Gallery in Margate.
Drums and Music
I love playing drums, both in church and in secular settings. I was part of the London-based band Ask Your Mum, which disbanded when its members moved away from the capital. More recently, I played with Don’t Wake the Boy, but that band has also since disbanded. Although I’m not currently playing, I hope to find a new group to join again soon.
YouTube & Model Railways
I enjoy making family YouTube videos, which I occasionally share with friends and family. I also have a passion for building model railways and visiting model exhibitions—embracing the cliché!
